From Counseling to Worship: A Story of God’s Transforming Grace

One of the greatest joys I have as a worship pastor is seeing how God uses music to touch hearts and change lives. Recently, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside a young family — Jose, his wife Denise, and their little boy Timoteo.

When they first came to Citychurch, they were seeking counseling with our Counseling Pastor, Valmir Pereira. But God had something so much bigger in store for them. In time, Jose committed his life to Jesus, and shortly after, Denise also opened her heart to Christ. What a beautiful moment it was when Denise took the step of baptism, declaring her new faith publicly.

Now, I get to see Jose’s journey in an even more personal way. He has become one of my newest students here at Citychurch, learning to play the bass guitar. It fills me with joy to watch his excitement — not just about music, but about serving God with this new gift. His smile says it all: his life has been transformed, and he wants to use every note to show his love for Jesus.

Please keep Jose, Denise, and Timoteo in your prayers. I truly believe God has wonderful plans for their family, and I feel blessed to witness the beginning of their story.

From counseling, to faith, to worship — I am reminded once again that God is the One who changes lives, and I’m grateful just to play a small part in the process.
