I’m Val Pereira, pastor of biblical counseling here at Citychurch. Before I say anything else, I want to thank you for supporting our ministry.  Let me share a little about what this ministry looks like.

 What is Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling is simply counseling that is built on the truth of God’s Word. In each session,

we listen carefully to the person sitting in front of us, and then we open Scripture together to discover God’s wisdom for their struggles. The Bible is not just a book of answers—it is the living Word of God, and it gives us principles that apply to every part of life.

 Why Biblical Counseling?

We deeply respect the work of secular counseling, but it cannot reach the deepest part of the human soul. Biblicalcounseling can. It allows us to speak with authority—not from ourselves, but from God. Our focus is not only to uncover what caused the problem but to walk with people toward real and lasting solutions rooted in God’s promises. Biblical counseling points people toward the One who is our ultimate source of help and hope.

 How Does It Help?

No matter what someone is facing, we remind them that God’s Word declares there is always hope. People often come to us feeling isolated or overwhelmed, but in counseling they discover that they are not alone. God loves them, He is present with them, and He desires to walk with them through every season and every struggle.

 The biblical counseling ministry is about more than temporary relief—it is about eternal impact. Just recently, two individuals who came to us for counseling encountered Christ in such a personal way that they surrendered their lives to Him. One has already been baptized. Both are now part of our church family, experiencing encouragement, love, and the joy of a living hope in Jesus.
